New report examines sustainability trends in lubricant formulations

STLE says the free digital report explores how lubricant advances support performance, regulatory requirements and cost considerations.

The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) announced a new free digital report, “Sustainable Lubricants: A Stewardship-Driven Approach to Effective Outcomes.”

The report says advances in lubricants and their applications have increased the availability of sustainable formulations and can reduce costs in some cases. It also says sustainability efforts should be supported by changes in requirements and practices, including customer needs, regulatory limits, performance goals and cost considerations.

“Sustainability remains a key concern globally, and the lubricants industry faces both challenges and opportunities in this area,” said STLE President Kevin Delaney, Vanderbilt Chemicals, LLC. “This publication addresses the complexities of balancing performance with sustainability in the global regulatory environment.”

This free digital special report is now available for download at stle.org/sustainablelubricants.
