Ways agentic AI can accelerate supply chain productivity

Enterprise software provider Epicor announced the availability of new agentic artificial intelligence (AI) tools aimed at helping companies navigate supply chain challenges quickly and accurately.

LAS VEGAS — As supply chain industries continue to face headwinds from tariffs, global disruptions and mounting economic pressure, businesses are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence for a competitive edge. At the Epicor Insights 2025 conference Tuesday, enterprise software provider Epicor announced the availability of new agentic artificial intelligence (AI) tools aimed at helping companies navigate these challenges with greater speed and accuracy.

The updates include Epicor Prism and the predictive analytics engine Epicor Grow AI — two AI-powered platforms that support more than 200 use cases across finance, production, customer service and operations. Both solutions are now available for integration with Epicor’s Industry ERP Cloud, including systems like Prophet 21 and Kinetic.

The rollout reflects a growing trend of embedding AI agents directly into enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to streamline decision making and accelerate supply chain productivity. According to Epicor, its Prism AI agents can automate common tasks, generate actionable insights through natural language queries and reduce time spent on manual information retrieval.

“Epicor AI is enabling a collaborative supply chain network fueled by shared intelligence,” Chief Executive Officer Steve Murphy said in a statement. “We’re giving businesses the tools to act on data and improve performance, even during periods of disruption.”

Agentic AI Use Cases in Action

Efficiency is one of the goals of Epicor’s AI tools. The Epicor Prism Knowledge Agent, for example, assists with employee onboarding by quickly retrieving answers from the company’s learning platform, saving up to 55 minutes per inquiry. Cascade Engineering Technologies and New Wave Design both cited faster internal support and increased self-sufficiency among staff.

In customer-facing operations, Prism helps extract and reformat quote data to accelerate response times. Olympus Group estimates the tool could help reduce its delivery times by as much as 50%, with a potential 20% operational improvement.

For decision support, the AI agents visualize and interpret charts, metrics and supplier options — features that have helped some early users cut back on internal communications by up to 40%. Jason Bassett, IT manager at Madsen’s Custom Cabinets, said the system saves his team several hours per week on routine questions.

In addition, the Epicor ECM Agent enables fast access to relevant documents, surfacing specific contract details or custom troubleshooting guides in seconds. Andy Young of Olympus Group said this function alone shaves off five to 10 minutes per document search.

Predictive Modeling with Grow AI

Alongside Prism, the new Epicor Grow AI platform supports predictive modeling across a company’s ERP, legacy and third-party data. Built on the Grow Data Platform, the system uses visual tools to help users assess data quality and streamline pipeline development. One practical application is the Grow AI Item Advisor, which recommends related products during the order entry process, helping increase average order value and customer satisfaction.

These AI enhancements come at a time when many supply chain organizations are under pressure to do more with less. By embedding intelligence directly into workflows, Epicor aims to help firms respond faster, reduce friction boost productivity.
