Magna-Plug magnetic connector

October 8, 2019

The Magna-Plug is a magnetic circular connector designed to avoid cable breakages, reduce production downtime & allow quick equipment changes, thus generating savings. It is a unique, non-competition & patented invent for industrial processes. By simply pulling the cables, the Magna-Plug connectors disconnect automatically. No more broken cables and sensors. The body of the Magna-Plug is made of Food-Grade Teflon meeting FDA regulations. The Male and Female connectors are equipped with a 316 Stainless Steel ring to give it more stiffness. The Panel Mount version is made of Teflon only. The Magna-Plug comes with 6 gold-plated PoGo pins (spring-loaded) for up to 18 AWG caliber conductors. Each connector has a couple of cylindrical half-loaf Samarium-Cobalt (SmCo) magnets with 5 lbs retention force per connector (10 lbs total when coupled), enough to withstand armed or shielded cables in the manufacturing processes without disconnecting. The Magna-Plug withstands harsh environments meeting Rating IP67/NEMA 6, it is dust & waterproof. The Magna-Plug works in Low Voltage signals (up to 48V DC Max.), 4-20mA control signals, with an Amperage of 1.5A, handling contacts up to 18 AWG. Each connector weighs 70g (2.5oz). The operating temperatures range from -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F). On the rear of each connector there is a cable gland to accommodate cables from 3.3 to 6.5mm (1/8” to 1/4”). The life-span of the Magna-Plug is 5000 mating cycles in order to ensure connectivity.
