Oil & Gas Engineering to debut in February
Oil & Gas Engineering is a bi-monthly publication by CFE Media that will cover aspects of oil and gas operation, design and distribution, with a specific focus on helping oil and gas operations managers operate their systems safely and more efficiently.
The acceleration of the North American oil and gas market had a profound impact on manufacturing, and has presented new challenges and new opportunities for both manufacturers and system integrators in that industry.
To help explain how these challenges will affect all aspects of oil and gas processing and distribution, CFE Media will debut Oil & Gas Engineering in February 2015. The magazine initially will be distributed to readers of Control Engineering and Plant Engineering with operations in the oil and gas industry, and will be distributed to that circulation group six times in 2015 as well as being available online in a digital edition. Oil & Gas Engineering also will have a monthly newsletter that will cover aspects of oil and gas operation, design and distribution, with a specific focus on helping oil and gas operations managers operate their systems safely and more efficiently. This will be accomplished through a series of on-the-ground reports from oil and gas facilities around the world.
"It’s obvious there is growth in the oil and gas market," said CFE Media co-founder Steve Rourke. "What is less obvious is that with that growth has come many new challenges. CFE Media conducted an extensive survey of oil and gas industry experts to understand what some of these issues are. Our editorial approach to developing Oil & Gas Engineering takes these key issues and brings them to the end users with a particular focus on how these new technologies and strategies will improve their operational excellence."
Among the topic areas cited by the CFE Media research in oil and gas that will be a part of the new Oil & Gas Engineering content are:
- Regulatory, codes and standards
- Worker safety
- Process control engineering
- Project management
- Maintenance best practices
- Worker recruitment and training.
"These all are areas Control Engineering and Plant Engineering have covered extensively for more than 60 years," Rourke noted. "With Oil & Gas Engineering, we are building on that tradition, and at the same time providing industry-specific coverage tailored for the operations and controls managers in oil and gas operations around the world.
"And even as we get ready to launch Oil & Gas Engineering, we know the industry landscape continues to change," Rourke said. "Beyond our initial research, we plan to continue to get feedback from readers and industry experts on how these changes will affect operations. We look forward to sharing this knowledge with our readership today and into the future."
