Miles for Manufacturing event at IMTS
The Miles for Manufacturing 5K run/walk hosted by GIE Media and IMTS will make its debut is on Sept. 10 and proceeds will be donated to Austin Polytechnical Academy in Chicago.
It’s not all work at the 2014 IMTS, Sept. 8-13 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. There will be one morning where you can get your day started with a brisk run along one of the most scenic lakefronts in the world.
On Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 7 a.m. the Miles for Manufacturing 5K run/walk hosted by GIE Media and IMTS will make its debut. Registration is open for the run/walk.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Austin Polytechnical Academy located on Chicago’s West Side, which is a college and career prep high school with a focus on manufacturing and engineering. Austin was founded by the Chicago Manufacturing Renaissance Council in 2007 to educate the next generation of leaders in advanced manufacturing. Students learn about careers in all aspects of the industry from skilled production and engineering to management and company ownership.
"As we plan IMTS, we work hard to offer our exhibitors and visitors a complete experience," said Peter Eelman, AMT Vice President of Exhibitions and Communications. "This is a great way to bring our community together outside the show floor and enjoy the beauty of September in Chicago."
CFE Media will sponsor the 2014 Global Automation and Manufacturing Summit on Sept. 10 starting at 8:15 a.m. in Room W190 in the West Wing of McCormick Place.
