Marshfield, WI-based ESE Inc. has achieved the Control
System Integrators Association (CSIA) certified member status. It passed an
independent third-party audit on criteria that encompass business and project
management processes, procedures and performance. These criteria include:
- General management
- Human resources management
- Financial management
- Marketing, business development and sales
management
- Project management system development lifecycle supporting
activities
- Quality assurance management.

Compared by independent auditors to the ISO 9001 and ISO
9004 programs for its standardization and reliability, the CSIA is considered
the industry standard for system integration project confidence. According to
Bob Lowe, CSIA executive director, “CSIA is committed to the business
development of control system integration companies and their implementation of
best practices in order to provide a healthy, low-risk channel for the
application of technology to their industrial clients.” ESE will retain the
CSIA certified designation for three years, at which time they will be
reevaluated based on the same rigorous criteria.
Additionally, ESE proved a solid understanding of the food
and beverage industry and the specialized requirements necessary to comply with
the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture
(USDA), the Bioterrorism Act and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
ESE has been designing and commissioning plant
automation systems for food and beverage applications since 1981. The company
integrates analytical instruments with control systems and software to improve
