Electrical group names president for national committee

Kevin Lippert has been appointed president of the United States National Committee (USNC) to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and will work on testing, certification and accreditation for the electrotechnical industry.

Kevin Lippert, senior manager of standards for Eaton’s Electrical Sector, has been appointed president of the United States National Committee (USNC) to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). In this role, Lippert will help establish policy and direction for the USNC Council in the IEC on testing, certification and accreditation for the electrotechnical industry.

“Kevin’s appointment to lead the U.S. delegation is a testament to his knowledge and influence in the electrical industry,” said Michael Regelski, senior vice president and chief technology officer, Eaton’s Electrical Sector.

As president of the USNC Council to the IEC, Lippert’s responsibilities include:

  • Chair the USNC Council, which helps establish the policy and direction for U.S. representation in the IEC
  • Represent USNC interests in the IEC and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
  • Lead U.S. delegations in IEC and related international and regional meetings

A committee of the ANSI, the USNC is the U.S. member body to the IEC and serves as the focal point for U.S. stakeholders interested in the development, promulgation, and use of globally relevant standards for the electrotechnical industry. The committee is also engaged in the assessment of conformance to standards, undertaking work in areas such as testing, certification, and accreditation.
