Dr. Nishant Unnikrishnan has over a decade of experience in the motion control industry as an applications engineer. He also has 5 years as a research scholar, 4 years working towards his doctorate, and 1 year as a postdoctoral researcher. In the 15 years Nishant has worked in the controls engineering field, he has been a problem-solver and a go-to person for difficult motion control applications. At his current position at Yaskawa, he has created algorithms and written core code for common motion control applications that can be reused in a wide array of machine applications. This feature has cut down control programming time for original equipment manufacturers. Automation is attracting young engineers from various backgrounds like computer engineering, electronics engineering and mechatronics. Nishant has been mentoring young engineers and helping them bridge the gap between soft automation and hardware. In his free time, Nishant is an avid soccer fan. He has combined his love for soccer with his passion for work by forming a soccer team at Yaskawa that competes locally.
