Quality Manager – Global Manufacturing, UTC Aerospace Systems, York, Neb.
BS Mechanical Engineering, ME Engineering Management, University of Nebraska — Lincoln; MS Quality Management & Six Sigma Black Belt Certification, The National Graduate School of Quality Management
Angel first fell in love with engineering by helping her father fix cars. After earning undergraduate and advanced degrees from the University of Nebraska, she found herself in a manufacturing career. She found her niche in aerospace with UTC. Currently, she is Quality Manager of Global Manufacturing. In this role, Angel manages a team that in 2016 was the only UTAS site to exceed quality metrics and deliver over $300,000 in savings. Angel works with the Seward Library Staff to develop STEM programs for elementary and middle school students. She hopes to inspire young female engineers by connecting them with hands-on engineering projects. Angel is a busy woman at home as well. As a member of the “Sandwich Generation”, she is the primary caregiver to both her grandmother as well as to her young children. She even presented a workshop on the topic in October 2016 at the National Society of Women Engineering Conference, and will again in 2017.
