Manufacturing facility is closer to DOE loan aid approval
Ascent Solar Technologies is reportedly moving closer to getting approval for loan aid from the U.S. Department of Energy for its proposed 150-MW manufacturing facility in Colorado.
U.S. photovoltaic module maker Ascent Solar Technologies has reportedly said it has moved closer to getting approval for loan aid from the U.S. Department of Energy for its proposed 150-megawatt manufacturing facility in Colorado.
The company, which also makes building-integrated photovoltaics, said its FAB3 module manufacturing plant has a value of about $375 million, of which $275 million would be under the loan guarantee program.
Under loan guarantees, the federal government commits to paying portions of private loans in case the companies default.
