With manufacturing pressured by the increasing cost of capital and the need to reduce manufacturing costs, The Aberdeen Group surveyed 190 manufacturers to learn what role people, processes and technologies play in enterprise asset management initiatives.

The study found Best-in-Class performers are 86% more likely to integrate MES and CMMS systems with their ERP platforms. They are 57% more likely than others to implement EAM strategies at the discretion of the plant leadership.

To achieve Best-in-Class performance, The Aberdeen Group recommends manufacturers: automate EAM capabilities and integrate plant floor automation, MES/CMMS with ERP, and implement material management capabilities, including spare parts consumption along with automated data collection, and provide asset utilization data as actionable intelligence to key decision makers.
