Hannover Fairs USA has formed a partnership with the owners of FABTECH including SME, FMA, AWS, PMA and CCAI to co-locate Industrial Automation North America and Motion, Drive & Automation North America (MDA North America) trade shows with FABTECH Chicago at McCormick Place from November 6-9, 2017.

Co-locating Industrial Automation North America and MDA North America at FABTECH Chicago allows Hannover Fairs USA to provide these two key tradeshows on an annual basis. Both currently are held at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in the even years.

Hannover Fairs USA also has announced CFE Media will produce its successful Global Automation and Manufacturing Summit (GAMS) as part of the 2017 FABTECH show in Chicago. This will continue the relationship between HFUSA and CFE Media to bring high-level educational and informational sessions to the IANA program attendees.

Content for the 2017 GAMS conference, which will take place on Tuesday, November 7, will focus on the themes of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and its adoption in the machine tool and discrete manufacturing markets.

"We are excited about forming this partnership with the FABTECH event because our key exhibitors indicated a desire to showcase their solutions on an annual basis in North America. FABTECH Chicago’s visitors are a perfect fit with our two shows’ target markets," said Larry Turner, CEO of Hannover Fairs USA. "The primary reason visitors attend FABTECH Chicago is to source new manufacturing products and now they can see an extension of industrial product offerings at Industrial Automation North America and MDA North America in the Lakeside Hall of McCormick Place."

Industrial Automation North America focuses on factory, process and building automation technologies and MDA North America focuses power transmission, motion control and fluid technology. FABTECH is North America’s largest collaboration of technology, equipment and knowledge in the metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing industries. In 2015, FABTECH Chicago showcased more than 1,700 exhibiting companies to 43,836 attendees from over 90 countries.

"Forming this partnership with Hannover Fairs USA to co-locate Industrial Automation North America and MDA North America with FABTECH is a critical growth strategy for our Chicago exhibition," said Jeffrey Krause, CEO and executive director, SME. "This is a natural next step since FABTECH includes all the major players in sheet and plate metal fabricating, welding, finishing, metal stamping and tube and pipe fabrication. We now can offer FABTECH Chicago visitors a host of complimentary industrial technologies and machinery to advance their facilities."
