What is industrial maintenance?

Industrial maintenance is the application of reliability best practices to increase equipment uptime in a manufacturing environment. Industrial maintenance involves functional checks, servicing, repairing or replacing of necessary devices, equipment, machinery, building infrastructure, and supporting utilities in industrial installations. Types of industrial maintenance include preventive maintenance, planned maintenance, periodic maintenance, predictive maintenance, and condition-based maintenance.
