An intrinsically safe sensor is designed for use in hazardous areas and is approved for Class I, Div. 1 (Zone 0) gas applications. The sensor is housed in an M30 x 1.5 mm package and has an adjustable sensing range of 2 mm to 15 mm, a shielded sensing field for flush mounting and a 20-turn metal potentiometer for adjustment of the switching point.
The unit includes a 5 m cable and a PTFE housing for resistance to acids and other chemically aggressive media. A protection set with cable gland is included to cover the potentiometer and increase the rating to IP67. The permitted ambient temperature range is -25 C to +70 C, and two PTFE mounting nuts are included.
