Raj Batra, Siemens
Raj Batra currently serves as president, Industry Automation Division for Siemens Industry, Inc.
He is responsible for the overall planning, organizing and directing of all activities of the division. AMD manufactured industrial automation products for discrete and process automation, production machines, microsystems and machine tools. Batra joined Siemens in 1993 and held a variety of high-level sales and industry positions as senior account manager, automotive business unit manager and GM -global account manager before being appointed vice president – Automotive Center of Competence in 2002. In this role, he was responsible for the total automotive go-to-market strategy of Siemens Energy and Automation (SE&A) in North America. In early 2005, Batra also assumed the responsibility of establishing and formalizing the go-to-market strategy for the burgeoning US-Aerospace Industry. Batra also served as head of the Automotive and Aerospace Center of Competence.
Greg Jones, Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT)
In his role as Vice President, Smartforce Development for the Association for Manufacturing Technology, Greg Jones will be linking manufacturing and education to bring qualified career candidates into the industry, as well as improve the knowledge and skills of the existing workforce. Jones has served the machine tool/manufacturing industry for more than 25 years by beginning his career in media and publishing.
In 2001, Jones began working in education, training and workforce development when he was part of the launch of ToolingU, the industry’s leading e-Learning initiative.
Steve Olson Executive Director, SelectUSA, U.S. Department of Commerce
Steve Olson serves as the Executive Director of SelectUSA and Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the Department of Commerce. As part of the Department’s senior management team, Olson drives the Department’s efforts to implement the top policy priorities of the Obama administration. He leads SelectUSA, a U.S. government-wide initiative which seeks to facilitate business investment and promote the United States as the world’s best market for investment. Olson manages the promotion of the United States as the world’s premier business investment destination, guiding the strategy and implementation of SelectUSA to facilitate business investment in the United States to create jobs, spur economic growth, and promote American competitiveness.
