Aixtron today cut its 2011 guidance, lowering its 2011 revenue outlook from €800- €900M to just €600- €650M, that is a dramatic 26% decline. It also lowered its EBIT margin guidance from 35% to 25-30%. What happened to Aixtron and what does this mean for the MOCVD and LED markets?
Veeco lowered on fab delays, but GCL not a good reason
Today, UBS downgraded Veeco's price from $51 to $47, citing lower orders from GCL. The GCL delay story is old news. A couple of months ago, it became clear that they weren't going to install 100 tools in 2011 as originally planned as the fab wasn't finished.
MOCVD and LED supply/demand outlook
In 2009, the MOCVD market was under 200 tools while in 2010 we expect 760 units to ship. Surprising to many, we show the MOCVD market continuing to rise not just in 2011 but in 2012 as well.
