SME expands available publications and technical references
The Society of Manufacturing Engineers recently expanded its collection of publications and technical references. Books and videos are now on sale on subjects such as assembly, composites manufacturing, finishing & coating, forming & fabricating, Lean manufacturing and machining & material removal processes, among others.
The selection of new books is highlighted by “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Lean,” which includes practical lessons learned from more than 30 years of combined experience in overcoming the constant construction and detours one endures in traveling down the road to Lean.
The new videos are highlighted by a composites manufacturing series. It includes eight programs that explore materials, tools and techniques used for composites fabrication. The series features in-depth shop-floor footage and animations illustrating the applied concepts and practical applications behind each subject within the composites series.
SME books and videos serve as a resource to help maintain a competitive edge in business and career. The new videos feature the following topics: micromachining, design for manufacturing and assembly, direct metal manufacturing, lean accounting, metal forming simulation, manufacturing of alternative energy systems and more.
