Removing covers Problem: The most difficult part of an internal tank inspection is unbolting and manhandling the heavy and cumbersome access cover out of the way in order to gain entry, and then jockeying it back into position afterward. Can this task be simplified? Solution: Weld a lifting eye to the cover and attach it to a simple swing-away boom that is permanently affixed to the tank. The access cover can then be easily swung out of the way for the inspection. Contributor: Darrin A.
