Available in side-mount, vertical-mount and temperature/liquid level models, liquid level switches also come in high-performance versions. Produced in brass, stainless steel and plastic, the electromechanical switches open or close electrical circuits in response to a change in the level of a liquid. The switches operate with a float containing a permanent magnet riding on the surface of a liquid. A stem containing a reed switch guides the motion of the float; the switch is actuated by the magnet in the float.
