The price index reveals that plant engineering costs are well under control, hovering around the 149 mark since October 1997. This April, prices were just 1.9% higher than in April 1997. Some of the components with noteworthy changes include lubricants, which rose 1.7% in April, and paint which spattered up 0.9%.
