Devcon, Permatex to merge

Devcon, which manufactures compounds and products for plant and equipment maintenance, repair, overhaul and protection, will merge with the industrial products group of Permatex, a Connecticut-based producer of gasket cements, threadlocking adhesives, lubricants, hand cleaners, and other products for the industrial MRO market.

Devcon and Permatex are Illinois Tool Works companies and are part of ITW Performance Polymers group. Under the new arrangement, Devcon will market products under both the Devcon and Permatex brand names.

“The expanded offering of proven, high-quality products will further enhance ITW Performance Polymers’ status as a major force in the MRO market,” said David Parry, President of ITW Performance Polymers.
