Vogel IC Series chemical process pumps feature a patented design — the Cyclone seal chamber — that extends mechanical seal life. The chamber consists of an oversized, tapered bore with two helical ribs that trap particles and prevent them from traveling to the seal environment. The cyclone-like flow created by the seal acts to transport particles out of the seal area.
