Problem: A bolt must be installed, but tight working space makes it impossible to both hold the bolt and use a wrench. Solution: First, grind a few threads off at the end of the bolt to make starting easy.
Problem: A bolt must be installed, but tight working space makes it impossible to both hold the bolt and use a wrench.
Solution: First, grind a few threads off at the end of the bolt to make starting easy. Second, punch a deep dimple in the head of the bolt. Third, grind a point on a welding rod and bend the end 90 deg. To install the bolt, start it in the hole and insert the welding rod point into the dimple to hold the bolt while wrenching it down.
