Steven has been a crucial engineer at Hargrove, particularly over the past two years, where he has worked on the MOD5 migration to DeltaV project for one of the company’s key clients. He possesses a unique skill set, adeptly understanding and translating outdated technology (Dow MOD 5) into modern distributed control systems (DCS) like DeltaV. Steven is diligent in his work, known for his clear communication with clients, attentiveness to their needs, and meticulous attention to detail. His initiative in acquiring new knowledge and skills, coupled with his eagerness to continuously develop as an engineer, underscores his leadership within the field.

Achievements, Advancements & Career-related Industry Contributions

Steven’s engineering journey began after college at Yokogawa Corp. of America in their Sugar Land office, where he initially focused on offshore oil platform projects. He spent several years working offshore on a two-week-on, two-week-off rotation before shifting his focus to system migrations. Since joining Hargrove, Steven has worked on a wide range of projects, including system updates and migrations, continuous process control, batch process control, and plant process optimization. His expertise in process control has been invaluable to clients across oil refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, and even a pharmaceutical plant in the Bahamas, where he has provided extended onsite support.

Non-work-related Activities & Hobbies

At home, Steven enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy novels. He is also an outdoor enthusiast, recently hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park and other nearby state parks. With a passion for nature, Steven aspires to learn photography to better capture rare plants and animals during his hikes.

Steven has a goal of visiting every national park in the United States. His curiosity extends beyond engineering to new hobbies, with his latest interest being the growing and propagating of succulent plants.
