Anthony emerged as a major leader over the past two years and was able to showcase this in a major way during the pandemic. He has led efforts that have resulted in technology developments, power saving methodologies, and greater regulatory compliance of control systems. He has impacted people as well, mentoring new engineers and leading multi-generational teams with grace absent in many engineers his senior. He is a great example of balancing interpersonal, leadership, and technical skills and has worked to impart this skill on others. He represents what it means to be an engineering leader.
Achievements, Advancement & Career-related Industry Contributions
The mark of a savvy person is their ability to navigate difficult situations using the best possible route with the best possible outcome. The problem with this, however, is that it is often done for personal gain. The mark of a great leader is someone that can help their team navigate difficult situations for the betterment of everybody. This has been one of the defining themes in Anthony’s career. Anthony led the effort to design strategies and educate a pharmaceutical company’s engineering team on how to comply with data integrity standards. He didn’t just complete a project; he worked to educate them and give them the tools to perform the work on their own which is critical as a Systems Integrator. We must work to make our clients better and that describes Anthony. In addition to this he helped develop company protocols for working safely during COVID-19, which is crucial in Pharma. He also helped develop algorithms and control schemes for implementing ECM fan arrays in HVAC applications for Pharma, which is a major energy conservation method that can be replicated elsewhere leading to more energy efficient plants. He has made a mark on people and technology.
Non-work-related Activities & Hobbies
Anthony is an avid golfer since he was 7 years old. He enjoys golfing because it is a very thought-provoking game and every stroke is different depending on the hole being played. Lowering his score and achieving his goals for the sport is very rewarding on a personal level.
- He took on learning to ski during the pandemic. In a short amount of time, He learned to maneuver down black diamond trails.
- He played soccer and ran track throughout high school and still plays intramural soccer.
Why did they choose this career?
Anthony said: “I enjoy the variety of different projects that take place in the automation field. From small software upgrades, equipment form-fits, and entire plant overhauls, I enjoy solving problems on-the-fly and keeping my troubleshooting skills sharp.”
