Baron Carleton, 30
Chief Operations Officer (COO)
Avalon International Aluminum Inc., Tualatin, Ore.
MS Nuclear Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology

Immediately upon graduation from Georgia Tech, Baron began working in the family aluminum business. He recognized several engineering and design flaws in the products the company had been using and set about correcting them. In the process, he recognized the deficiency in the industry related to non-standard wall thicknesses — no one had a way to offer flush glazing in those circumstances. Baron developed, engineered and produced a solution he also patented, receiving wide acclaim for the product and the company.

FUN FACT: Baron became an Eagle Scout at 12 years old.
