It’s been proven that education creates the shortest distance between a dead-end job and an upward career. That’s why the Association for Facilities Engineering invites participation in its 2007 Certified Plant Engineer and Certified Plant Maintenance Manager review classes and exams.

Classes and exams for the CPE credential will be conducted September 17-20; for the CPMM credential, September 10-13, in Cincinnati.

CPE participants will learn about electrical engineering, maintenance, safety, energy, controls/instrumentation and HVAC.

CPMM participants will learn about maintenance management, preventive maintenance, inventory and procurement, work orders, work flow, planning and scheduling, computerized maintenance management, total productive maintenance, maintenance financials and return on investment.

Participants may opt to take the independent route. They can study and be tested under either of these or the Certified Plant Supervisor program without attending the review class.

Study guides are available for an additional fee, which is discounted for AFE members.

Applications and fees must be received in advance. Further information and all required forms are at www.afe.org . Click on “Certification” to access details, or call (513) 489-2473.
