Module connects different networks

ProTalk Q protocol conversion modules provide connectivity between Schneider Electric's Quantum and Unity processors and other networks. The single-slot modules are available in communications, flow computer, and HART multidrop master versions. It can connect to PROFIBUS DP, EtherNet/IP, DF1 Master/Slave, HART, Landis & Gyr, DNP Ethernet server, and others.

I/O eliminates wiring errors

BL67 I/O system features DeviceNet or PROFIBUS DP gateways that eliminate the need for enclosures and hard wiring. Electronic modules are independent of the higher-level fieldbus, communicate with gateway via internal bus, and are available in digital, analog, temperature, and RS-232/485. Modules are hot swappable. Keyways prevent insertion of incorrect modules.

Controllers respond quickly

E5AR and E5ER process controllers allow integrated control of multiple zones or parameters such as temperature, pressure, and humidity. The fast 50-msec sampling response time provides precise control for rapidly changing process variables in critical applications. Annual Salary Survey

Before the calendar turned, 2016 already had the makings of a pivotal year for manufacturing, and for the world.

There were the big events for the year, including the United States as Partner Country at Hannover Messe in April and the 2016 International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago in September. There's also the matter of the U.S. presidential elections in November, which promise to shape policy in manufacturing for years to come.

But the year started with global economic turmoil, as a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing triggered a worldwide stock hiccup that sent values plummeting. The continued plunge in world oil prices has resulted in a slowdown in exploration and, by extension, the manufacture of exploration equipment.
