Automated motion control applications, including robotics, require a high degree of integration with connected devices and systems. What attributes of industrial motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs) need to be considered for modern motion-control implementations? Sizing, motor-drive matching, efficiency, communications, application requirements and other attributes will be reviewed with application examples.
