Constant Torque (CT) Applications

What are constant torque applications?

Inverter-fed motor load specifications are classified by the shaft output torque requirement across the entire operational speed range of the load. Constant torque applications are those where the torque demanded by the load remains constant across the entire speed range and the output horsepower decreases linearly with speed.

Variable Torque (VT) Applications

What are variable torque applications?

Inverter-fed motor load specifications are classified by the shaft output torque requirement across the entire operational speed range of the load. Variable torque applications are those where the torque demanded by the load decreases linearly, or as the square or cube of the speed and the output horsepower decreases as a greater power of the speed.
