One (1) Certified Professional Development Hour (PDH) available for all attendees.

For some, energy management is seen as an economic issue, and energy safety is a personnel issue. Experienced plant managers know the two are intrinsically related. The May 18 Plant Engineering Webcast will look at how energy management and energy safety are connected, and how both strategies may change in light of the upcoming updates to the NFPA 70E electrical safety standard.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the fundamental link between energy management and energy safety—how the two are not just related, but interdependent.
  • Learn how to develop and implement an energy management strategy that links the efficient use of all energy—electric, gas, compressed air and renewables—with a safety program.
  • Look at some of the upcoming changes and revisions to NFPA 70E, which will be finalized later this year.

Featured Speaker: H. Landis “Lanny” Floyd, PE, CSP, CESCP, CMRP, CRL, Life Fellow IEEE is a principal consultant for Electrical Safety Group Inc. and adjunct professor of advanced safety engineering and management at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
