With the arrival of new daily blogs and news at www.plantengineering.com , Website readers can get news and views without having to wade through a lot of extra information.

“Blogs have proven to be great ways of getting people connected, but they do tend to be a bit long-winded,” said PLANT ENGINEERING editor Bob Vavra, who is writing the daily blog. “We know our readers’ time is valuable, so we give them the short version of what’s happening to keep them informed and the quick link to more information so they can do further research when time permits.”

The blogs and news also bring together PLANT ENGINEERING ’s continuing coverage of major events in manufacturing. Already, readers have gotten an inside look at the Power Gen show and the Invensys user group events through the daily news and blogs.

Readers also got a behind-the-scenes look at PLANT ENGINEERING ’s exclusive Roundtable at Power Gen, with panelists from Schneider Electric, Scripps Research Center and Roundtable sponsor APC. The Website features exclusive audio clips.

With a busy show calendar on the horizon for 2007, more daily news from shows and meetings will be delivered to readers through the daily news and blogs.

“We’ve just been through a pretty busy year,” said Vavra, “and we anticipate 2007 will be just as interesting. There are a lot of things happening each day in terms of new plant floor strategies, new technology, new automation and new business alliances that our readers need to know about now.

“By offering daily news and providing some context for what is happening in the manufacturing space, we can help our readers move more quickly to address the issues they face each day,” Vavra added. “For 60 years, that’s what PLANT ENGINEERING has excelled at, and it’s what we will offer our readers more of in the coming year.”
