Combination automatic transfer-bypass/isolation switches for loads up to 3,000 A are designed to reduce the unit’s footprint by nearly 50% by locating the bypass/isolation switch above the transfer switch. Standard break-before-make bypass/isolation switch allows operators to bypass to either the normal or emergency source — regardless of the position or condition of the transfer switch, which can then be rolled out of its enclosure for inspection and maintenance. Where bypass with momentary load interruption is unacceptable, a switch with no load-break bypass operation is available.
