Supplied on the company’s Type-14, Type-15, and Type-G diaphragm valves, the the three-piece Teflon diaphragm’s design provides safety and protection against harsh chemicals. It creates a gas barrier to prohibit leakage associated with other designs and is suited for use in a variety of applications, including water and waste water treatment and chemical processing. The diaphragm is made up of three separate layers, each of which performs a specific function; The first two layers — Teflon and Polyvinylidene Fluoride — provide contact with media and prevent vapor migration, respectively. The third layer, black rubber EPDM, facilitates lower sealing torques by providing elasticity to the Teflon and PVDF layers.
