nt from a wide range of electrical disturbances including single phasing, reverse phasing, and voltage imbalance.

s were burning out.   Dunham & Associates, an engineering firm here in Rapid City, had an office in Minneapolis at that time, and our CEO, George Dunham, was aware of those problems and set to work to find a solution.  SymCom was the result, and a dairy farmer received the first Model 1000, which protected against loss of phase on the milking machines.

n, single phasing condition, or a reverse phasing condition.  For example, say a MotorSaver is installed in an application with critical motors, and the voltage becomes unbalanced because the customer has one of the phases loaded, such as lights in their parking lot. If the MotorSaver were not installed in the system, this voltage unbalance could result in damage to the motor.  Every degree centigrade that the motor temperature rises degrades the motor’s longevity.  MotorSaver shuts the motor off, waits a customer-specified time, and turns the motor back on when the conditions are safe.

e pump can run dry and its motor will burn up.  A PumpSaver installed in this system will recognize that the pump is running dry and will shut the pump motor off.  After waiting a customer-specified time interval, the PumpSaver will check the conditions, and restart the pump when it is safe, and possible damage to the motor has been averted

to set the standards for operation.  At the factory, SymCom has progressed from using components which were installed by hand, to using components which are no bigger than the tip of your pen and are installed by machine.
