Integration partnership announced

Junot Systems, Inc., a provider of embedded enterprise application integration solutions, and Synergen, Inc., a CMMS/EAM provider have successfully integrated the Synergen Series software suite to SAP R/3. Synergen selected Junot's NLINK technology to provide customers with integration into the leading ERPs.

The partnership between Synergen and Junot expands the value that a product suite offers by providing an out-of-the-box integration solution into the SAP product and a platform that leverages NLINK's connectivity to legacy and ERP systems.

Bentley acquires Rebis

Regarding Bentley's recent acquisition of Rebis, the companies intend to further develop interoperable plant design solutions for both MicroStation and AutoCAD users.

In January 2002, Bentley acquired a minority interest in Rebis, becoming the largest outside shareholder. Autodesk was also a shareholder in Rebis. Dr. Jeff Hollings, former CEO of Rebis, is now Bentley's Senior Vice President, Bentley Plant Division.

Bentley intends to maintain two full product lines — AutoPLANT based on AutoCAD and PlantSpace based on MicroStation.

It was part of Rebis's strategy to provide a common set of solutions for both MicroStation and AutoCAD. Bentley Plant will continue to develop and support plant design tools and solutions for AutoCAD.

Software companies to merge

Integral Solutions, Inc. (ISI), a product quality planning software and training firm has signed a letter of intent with ASI DataMyte, Inc., to merge the two companies.

Based in Royal Oak, MI, ISI is a privately owned software, training, and consulting company specializing in quality process and control solutions. ASI DataMyte, Minnetonka, MN, was formed by the merger of Applied Statistics, Inc., and the former DataMyte business unit of Rockwell Automation, Inc.

It manufactures data collection devices, gage management software, precision measurement solutions, and statistical process control (SPC) software for manufacturing.

Products of the merging companies complement each other. They include quality documentation and management software as well as programs related to data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Predictive maintenance solutions

Neles Digital Solutions is a color brochure that details digital solutions for predictive maintenance. The solutions are based on constant data collection from control valves.

At the heart of the solutions is the ND800 controller, which provides responsive control and continuously collects performance trend data. Neles ValveManager software allows users to communicate with the controller for online diagnostic evaluations revealing the health of the valve without requiring and expensive asset manager. Annual Salary Survey

After two years of economic concerns, manufacturing leaders once again have homed in on the single biggest issue facing their operations:

It's the workers—or more specifically, the lack of workers.

The 2017 Plant Engineering Salary Survey looks at not just what plant managers make, but what they think. As they look across their plants today, plant managers say they don’t have the operational depth to take on the new technologies and new challenges of global manufacturing.
