Problem: More times than not, when shimming motors and gearboxes, several shims of varied thickness are required. How do you keep the shim stack stacked while keeping it inline and uniform in correlation with the bolt and alignment pinholes?

Solution: Smear a small amount of grease onto the face of each shim and they stick together as a unit. The shims can be moved around as a group to get a proper alignment.
