Daytime temperatures approaching 95 F, spicy Creole cuisine, and innovative plant engineering and management products and services kept the heat on at ISA Expo 2000 in New Orleans, LA, August 21-24. The exhibition brought the introduction of a variety of interesting and useful products.

Vortex flowmeter uses noise filters

digitalYEWFLO vortex flowmeter uses a digital signal processing amplifier and noise filters to provide stable measurements. The flowmeter features an auto noise balance function and vibration immunity. The digital device offers accuracy to 6 0.75% of reading, simultaneous analog and pulse outputs, two line LCD indicator, parameter settings by communication link or indicator mounted pushbuttons, and status output for flow switch or alarm functions. The flowmeter is also available in high temperature versions up to 840 F.

Monitor features flat CRT display

E19Z industrial CRT monitor features a flat screen CRT with a 0.24-mm dot pitch, and withstands vibration, shock, and temperature extremes. The monitor accepts most video sources and offers resolutions from 640 3 480 to 1600 3 1200. The E19Z is available with various mountings, including NEMA and EIA. The monitor also offers onscreen setup menus and touchscreen options, as well as the availability of special modifications and custom design features.

Industrial computerfamily runs Windows CE

RAC6182 industrial computer family includes 12-in. TFT, 7.7-in. STN LCD flat panel display, and a nondisplay option. Both versions are designed for factory control applications. The computers offer RISC-based MIPS 225-MHz processors and come with Windows CE 2.12. The standard I/O ports include two USB ports, two PS/2 ports for external keyboard and mouse, two high-speed serial ports, one parallel port, built-in 10/100BaseT Ethernet, two PCMCIA slots, and an add in PCI card slot.

Instrument offers adaptive control

CyboCon CE control instrument is a software-based hardware product that uses a proprietary anti-delay, model-free, adaptive tuning algorithm. The instrument is available in one to four loop configurations and can be upgraded to include a feedforward function, nonlinear control for pH applications, and control for processes with significant disturbances and dynamic changes.

Motor starter connects to Profibus

ET200S motor starter is included in this distributed Profibus I/O safety system. Safety engineering functions protect and switch ac loads up to 5 hp at 480 V. Motor starters enable category 4 safety related applications in accordance with EN 954-1 without overhead wiring. They are expandable and suitable for use in distributed switching boxes or cabinets. The unit connects to the central controller via the Profibus.
