Precision Engine Controls has retired its first-generation VG series gas fuel metering valves.Precision Engine Controls Corp., a designer and manufacturer of industrial and marine engine controls, designed and began manufacturing the VG series in 1974. Introducing the first all-electric fuel metering valve specifically designed for gas turbine applications, the VG1.5 is commonly known as the “PECC” valve. As of July 31, 2008, the VG1.5 gas fuel metering valve product line will be transitioned to a “support only” status. Precision Engine Controls plans to support repairs on field units through July 31, 2012.The next-generation XVG valve replaces the VG1.5. The new valve, which is in its fourth year of field operations, offers the latest technology in flow control, flow measurement and contamination resistance. Using integrated sensors, this flow-through design automatically compensates for pressure and temperature, providing precise fuel flow under varying conditions. Digital electronics, RS-485/Modbus communication and increased flow capabilities are just a few features of the XVG that is a flange-to-flange replacement for the retiring VG1.5 fuel valve.
