Achievements: Extensive experience in the measurement field of oil & gas and working with PLCs, RTUs, DCSs, and flow computers. Wrote the C code for Schneider Electric’s new line of Modicon PLCs in regard to industry standards for flow measurement. Wrote UDF blocks for DelatV systems.
Non-work hobbies: I am Canadian and I love playing hockey. I have been developing software on a contract basis for about 12 years. I enjoy doing origami when I am not programming/working/playing hockey.
Engineering hobbies: I actually picked up developing engineering apps for iPhone/iPad in my spare time.
Start in controls: My father has been the biggest inspiration in my life. He worked for Imperial Oil for over 30 years as the measurement engineer specialist. He bought me my first computer book on Basic. Now that he is retired, we still contract on projects together developing software for PLCs, DCSs, and flow computers.
