Microcontroller provider acquires Australia-based provider of development tools for embedded systems.

Chandler, AZ– Microchip Technology Inc., provider of microcontroller and analog semiconductors, has acquired Brisbane, Australia-based Hi-Tech Software, provider of development tools for embedded systems. With the addition of Hi-Tech Software, Microchip users now have the option to develop their C code using the Mac OS X and Linux operating systems.
