Maintenance professionals to hear from military, manufacturing experts

SMRP annual conference is Oct. 14-16 in Indianapolis

The annual conference for the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) will feature keynote speakers from the worlds of maintenance and the military.

The 2013 SMRP conference is Oct. 14-16 in Indianapolis, Ind., and will feature keynotes from Ret. Lt. Col. Rob “Waldo” Waldman, a former combat fighter pilot and business professional; and Ron Moore, a well-known maintenance and reliability professional, and a contributor to Plant Engineering and other journals, as well as the author of two books. 

“We are very excited about the level of enthusiasm we have received from speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees for this year’s conference,” said Gina Hutto Kittle of The Timken Company,  the 2013 SMRP conference chair. “We look forward to new and emerging topics that will provide participants an opportunity to hone their skills and knowledge to enhance their expertise.”

The conference will host more than 50 distinguished speakers and workshop leaders, including practitioners, maintenance and reliability professionals, consultants, and business leaders. 

Among the other conference events are:

  • Six plant tours including POLARIS laboratories, Citizen’s Energy Group, Rolls Royce, Nucor Steel, and Dallara IndyCar Factory;
  • Exhibit hall featuring more than 40 exhibitors;
  • More than 15 workshops and more than 50 track sessions; and
  • Certification exam opportunities.
