HMI support for sanitary environments

Overhead suspension system designed to withstand high temperature washdowns and protect electronics.

August 17, 2010

Pentair Technical Products has released the Hoffman Syspend sanitary HMI system for enclosing, protecting, and suspending lightweight HMI devices up to a maximum load of 90 lb. The company says this new addition to the Syspend family is specifically designed to meet the demanding needs of sanitary environments. The modular system includes multiple tube lengths and straight, L-, and U-shaped tubes to meet specific application requirements. Integrated side handles on the enclosure allow repositioning and adjustment to meet ergonomic needs of multiple users.

The Syspend sanitary system meets NEMA Type 4X and IP69K requirements for high pressure, high temperature washdown applications. Eliminating exterior bolts and setscrews provides modern aesthetics, but Hoffman points out that such clean lines also minimize bacterial catch points, critical in sanitary environments.

The system features 304 stainless steel construction to provide corrosion resistance and ease of cleaning. A reversible 20° sloped top and bottom on the enclosure facilitates water and cleaning solution runoff, and prevents operators placing objects on top of the enclosure. A slanted flange trough collar prevents fluids from pooling along the top edge of the enclosure opening, and a concealed closed-cell silicone gasket provides complete washdown protection.
