Permatex gasket makers are available in a variety of formulations to replace conventional gaskets. Noncorrosive, the form-in-place compounds require no mixing and cure at room temperature. More versatile than conventional gaskets, they form to any size and shape and are available in three technologies — elastomeric rubber, silicone rubber and anaerobic — that resist weathering and thermal cycling. Anaerobic gasket makers are designed to prevent movement in rigid assemblies. The gels cure between close-fitting machined metal surfaces in the absence of air and withstand extreme temperatures.
