AME names Barbara Morrison new president

Succeeding Paul Kuchuris, new Association for Manufacturing Excellence's leader to focus on membership growth

Association management professional Barbara Morrison is the new president of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence’s (AME). She succeeds Paul Kuchuris, who announced his retirement in May. Kuchuris, president of AME for the past three years, will stay on as an advisory role through the AME International Conference on Nov. 10-14.

"As president, Morrison will leverage her experience in strategic planning, budgeting and staff development to lead AME as it grows its membership and expands its reach within the manufacturing industry," AMR officials said in a Oct. 10 press release. "Through her leadership, AME hope to strengthen its role as a provider of vital resources for its members, offering professional development and networking opportunities."

Morrison has worked with the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Air Movement and Control Association International, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the National Association of Neonatal Nurses and the American Industrial Hygiene Association. She earned her Master of Business Administration degree from Almeda University after obtaining a degree in mechanical engineering from Stark State College, is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and holds a certification from the Institutes for Organization Management (Stanford and UCLA).
