Reliability Leader, Mid-Continent Business Unit, Chevron, Midland, Texas
BS Chemical Engineering, Brigham Young University; MS Industrial Engineering, University of Washington
Nathan believes that nothing is truly “routine” in the quality and reliability world. He is always looking for ways to improve. He finds pairing the challenge of solving problems with the novelty of technological developments intrinsically rewarding. Nate started interning with Boeing during his sophomore year of college. His influence was so effective, they provided him with a scholarship and hired him as a full-time engineer after graduation. After gaining increasing responsibility at Boeing over 7 years, Nate moved on to Chevron seeking petrochemical industry experience. He has become the Reliability Leader for Chevron’s Mid-Continent Business Unit and manages surface equipment reliability across 23 field production teams. Nate holds three certifications from the American Society of Quality: six sigma black belt, reliability engineer, and quality manager. He enjoys volunteering his time with the Boy Scouts of America, Make-A-Wish foundation, and his church. In the last year, Nate and his family hosted a foreign exchange student from China. As a volunteer family, they provided an opportunity for a young student to learn English and experience American culture.
