Siemens to acquire Tesis PLMware
Siemens has entered into an agreement to acquire Tesis PLMware, which integrates product lifecycle management (PLM) software with enterprise applications.
The agreement includes the acquisition of Munich-based Tesis PLMware GmbH and its U.S. business. Tesis PLMware aims to help customers reduce IT costs and improve efficiency through integrating Siemens’ Teamcenter software with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other enterprise applications, such as manufacturing execution system (MES), customer relationship management (CRM), and supply chain management (SCM) software.
Tesis PLMware will, after closing, be assigned to Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division. The terms of the acquisition will not be disclosed.
With the acquisition of Tesis PLMware, a partner of Siemens PLM Software since 1992, Siemens is aiming to help its customers assimilate the Teamcenter PLM portfolio into global product development and manufacturing environments.
“Siemens is committed to delivering best in class solutions that help our customers, and the next generation of manufacturers, efficiently bring innovative products to market,” said Chuck Grindstaff, president and CEO, Siemens PLM Software. “With the acquisition of Tesis PLMware, Siemens is further expanding its portfolio of industry software," helping with customers’ integration into enterprise software, Grindstaff said.
Tesis PLMware, a member of the Tesis group, was founded in 1988 as a consultancy and software company that aims to help medium and large manufacturing companies create integrated PLM landscapes and highly efficient product development processes.
