In 2007, Wallander graduated from UW-Madison, BSME, with high honors and participated on a Society of Automotive Engineers Clean Snowmobile team. He then became an associate engineer with Sargento Foods and led portions of the integration of new sauce technologies into the company. In 2010, he became a project engineer and led projects to install vision inspection systems on packaging lines. Wallander became a plant engineer in 2012 and leads successful plant level integration of a companywide "Maintenance Excellence" project that transforms how maintenance is executed at Sargento. He is a founding member of continuous improvements teams at the Kiel facility. Wallander is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree at UW-Plateville in Engineering Management. Outside of work, Wallander has a passion for aviation. He earned his private pilot’s certificate and flies as often as he can. He is also a PADI-Certified open water scuba diver and recently ran a half marathon.
