Ruben Sitts, 35
Production Manager (Welding); The Raymond Corporation, Greene, N.Y.
BS Business Administration and Management (in progress), Empire State College

Sitts plays a key role in closing the skills gap at The Raymond Corporation’s Greene, N.Y. location. He has been promoted four times in his 13 years with our company. He was hired as a welder A and has been promoted up through the ranks to welder 1 in 2004, an assistant team leader in 2007, welding supervisor in 2011, and now to his current position as welding manager since 2013. Each promotion has brought new challenges that Sitts has worked hard to overcome and meet successfully. He holds certifications in welding inspection and weld supervision from the American Welding Society. Sitts is working toward his bachelor’s degree at Empire State College, and he currently serves on a few consultant committees for area vocational schools and is involved with SkillsUSA at the state and national levels. In his spare time, Sitts volunteers as a manufacturing cluster chair for New York State’s Chapter of SkillsUSA and has been asked to help judge the Welding Fabrication competition at the Skills National conference this year in Kentucky. Sitts has a twin brother, who is also a welding manager.
