To keep in touch with the latest news, research, and developments within your field of expertise, it’s safe to assume that many of you belong to an association whose mission coincides with this goal. Not too long ago, attending the annual tradeshow or meeting of these associations, subscribing to their journals, and contacting fellow members via the telephone were your primary — and perhaps only — means of networking within the association to keep abreast of industry developments vital to your job and your professional development. Thanks to the World Wide Web, however, the ability to “network” has taken on a whole new meaning.
